Our Sheep
Ewes
Our ewe flock is a mix of genetics from NP Ranch in Sanger, Texas and Dr. Beverly Chevallier in Western Grove, Arkansas. In our ewes, we look for good mothers who can birth and raise twins with limited assistance, perform well on grass and hay (no grain supplement), and maintain excellent parasite resistance and hoof condition. Our exceptionally wet environment can push parasite resistance and hoof quality to the limit, so we can't accept anything less than excellence in those areas.
Rams
We currently use two rams in our breeding program. Our first ram was purchased from Lone Cottonwood Katahdins in Westphalia, KS. He is exceptionally docile (big fan of nose scratches!) and exhibits excellent parasite resistance and hoof condition. We have also added an NP Ranch ram lamb (not directly related to our NP ewes) this year, and we are excited to see what he will bring to our program!
